Advances in Engineering Innovation


This journal only accepts English manuscripts. The manuscripts should reflect the latest research trends and research results in the field of management around the world. The title and text are consistent, the arguments are clear, the arguments are reliable, the data are accurate, and the text is concise and standardized.

Prospective authors are kindly invited to submit full papers that include Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Main body, Discussion/Conclusion and References. It is unnecessary to submit an abstract in advance. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English.

Each paper should be no less than 4 pages.

Formatting guidance for authors

Detailed formatting guidance in both English and Chinese is provided. A well-formatted article will speed up manuscript production process.

1. Title and content

  • Capitalise only the first letter of the first word of the title of the article; if there is a proper noun in the title, capitalise the first letter of the proper noun (e.g., the Great Wall); and capitalise all acronyms (e.g., GPS);
  • Please ensure that the essay has a complete structure, including Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Main body, Discussion/Conclusion, and References;
  • Section title of more than two levels are not recommended;
  • The full text should be at least 4 pages;

2. Author information, abstract and keywords

  • All authors' affiliations should be provided, and if you want to make a distinction between affiliations, please mark them in superscript form;
  • Please indicate the corresponding information with *;
  • The article should contain an abstract of 200-250 words, and 3-5 keywords;

3. Font size

  • Times New Roman with a size of 10pt in main text are highly recommended;
  • The title of the article should be in Times New Roman, bold and 18pt in size;

4. Page setting

  • Please set the page size of the article to US Letter;
  • The page orientation is portrait;
  • Margins: top 2cm, bottom 1.75cm, left 1.67cm, right 1.67cm;
  • Please do not set headers, footers, and page numbers;

5. Paragraph and line spacing

  • The full text will be single-spaced with no space before/after paragraph;
  • Section titles are spaced 6pt apart both before and after paragraph;
  • Text should be justified to both margins;

6. Pictures/Figures

  • All pictures should be set below the picture title, e.g. Figure 1: A new figure;
  • Pictures should be embedded as much as possible. If multiple pictures are side by side or a single picture is too large, please adjust the size and layout as much as possible so that the picture does not go beyond the text boundary;
  • If the picture is cited, please indicate the source of the picture in parentheses after the title of the picture;
  • All elements in the picture should be in English;

7. Tables

  • All tables should have a table title at the top of the table, e.g. Table 1: A new table;
  • Please use a three-line format for tables;

8. References

  • References should be sorted in the order in which they appear in the text; all references should be cited in the text;
  • The reference numbers should be marked with [x] in the text, e.g. This is a citation[1];

9. Acknowledgement and Appendices

  • Acknowledgements and appendices are not mandatory and should be added at the author's discretion; Acknowledgement and Appendices will be set after the references.

Copyright Liability

After the article is submitted, please do not submit to other journals, we will contact the author within one month and inform whether to accept the article. For disputes caused by copyright, plagiarism, etc. by the author, the responsibility shall be borne by the author himself.

Regarding Retractions

AEI attaches great importance to the regulation of academic activities and the completeness of academic achievement records, and tries its best to ensure that academic papers maintain a traceable and unchanging historical record after publication.

  1. State the problem
  2. Correction (error in typography or error in content)
  3. Cancellation
  4. Remove

The above measures are all aimed at correcting the article and alerting the reader, not punishing the author. The editors of the journal have the responsibility to supervise and review any irregularities in the articles published by the journal, whether intentional or unintentional, and the review process should involve the participation of authors and reviewers. Editors will follow the publisher's retraction guidelines and other accepted academic principles to choose the best way to deal with the problem.

If action is requested by the author on his own initiative, the author will not be required to pay additional fees for it. If the action taken (such as retraction) is not initiated by the author, or is only a unilateral action by the author before the two parties reach an agreement, the publisher is not required to compensate the author for economic losses, and the article layout fee will not be refunded to the author.

Academic Ethics

Advances in Engineering Innovation (AEI) is restricted to the standard international publication rules. Plagiarism is not to be tolerated by our journal. Author(s) are required to submit original and unplagiarized work. Plagiarism from the previously published work of your own is unaccepted, as well (your thesis and/or dissertation are excluded and can be used as materials for submission). Plagiarism term means using ideas, data, texts, or plots from others and representing them as your own. However, borrowing ideas from other sources with a proper attribution and correct citation and quotation is not a plagiarism. To keep our journal prestigious, we use the global software "Turnitin" to detect plagiarism, and the accepted limit for the whole article is no more than 20%. In case of plagiarism detection, the editor will contact the author asking him/her to paraphrase the manuscript or to use the proper citation, then resubmitting the manuscript again. The author will hold the responsibility of any ethics infringement. Advances in Engineering Innovation (AEI) has the full right of checking the plagiarism of the manuscript in any stage of the publication process. The journal can also check the plagiarism after the acceptance of the manuscript and the author(s) have to accept the journal's decision after receiving the plagiarism report.

Papers submitted to the journal should report your original work, unpublished before. They could be either experimental or theoretical and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. We firmly believe that ethical conduct is the most essential virtue of any academic. Any act of plagiarism is unacceptable and academic misconduct will not be tolerated. If an author is found to commit an act of plagiarism, the following sanctions will be taken:

  1. Reject the article submitted or delete the article from the final publications.
  2. Report the author's violation to their supervisor(s) and affiliated institution(s)
  3. Report the author's violation to the appropriate overseeing office of academic ethics or research funding agency.

Ethics and Negligence Statement

Advances in Engineering Innovation (AEI) bases its editorial processes on the code of ethics of the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE).

For Editor:

  • Guarantee the selection of highly qualified reviewers with the least possible biases.
  • Evaluate exclusively based on the scientific merit of the contents, without discrimination of any kind (ethnic, political, economic, institutional, etc.).
  • Do not disclose information related to the articles received to people outside the editorial process.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts, their authors and reviewers, guaranteeing the anonymity of the process.
  • Do not use the contents of the articles for your own research without the express consent of the authors.
  • Strictly comply with the published times for the editorial process and a maximum gap number between acceptance and publication, that is, no accepted article can remain unpublished two numbers in a row.

For Reviewers:

  • Carry out a critical, constructive and honest review of the scientific quality of the article received.
  • Inform the Editor in case of conflicts of interest, refusing to carry out the review due to possible bias.
  • Decline to carry out an evaluation in case it does not correspond to your field of knowledge or specialization.
  • Evaluate the works within the established period, immediately informing the Editor in case of impossibility of compliance at the time of receiving the request.
  • Consider each manuscript assigned as confidential, not being able to discuss these texts with other people without the express consent of the Editor.
  • Evaluate objectively, without establishing personal judgments about the authors of the contributions.
  • Justify your assessments based on the guidelines established by AEI.
  • Warn editors if substantial parts of the work have already been published or are under review for another publication.
  • Indicate precisely the bibliographic references of fundamental works possibly forgotten by the author.
  • Inform the Editor of any similarities or overlaps of the manuscript with other published works.
  • Consider the information obtained during the peer review process as confidential, not being able to use it for personal purposes.

For Authors:

  • Present an original work, which does not contain parts of other authors or other fragments of works without the corresponding reference.
  • Present true and unaltered data.
  • Do not publish articles in which the same results are repeated in more than one scientific journal, nor submit a manuscript simultaneously in more than one journal.
  • Provide a rigorous indication of the sources and contributions mentioned in the article.
  • Include those people who have made a real contribution to the article, ranking the authors according to their level of responsibility and involvement in the document.
  • Do not include other authors in the middle of the editorial process.
  • Make available sources or data on which the investigation was based, in the event of a duly justified request by the Editor.
  • Explicitly declare the absence of conflicts of interest that may have influenced the results obtained or the proposed interpretations, and indicate any funding from agencies and/or projects from which the research article derives.
